About Us
My name is Serguei Totrov. I’m a Mortgage Broker and Financial Advisor. I came to Canada in the beginning of 1997 and almost immediately decided to work in financial industry, because back in Russia my education background was in Economics and Finance. In 1984 I graduated from Moscow University of Management with a degree in “Organization of Production Management”.
From 1997 through to 2000 I worked with “Clarica” insurance company. I decided that working for just one company is not right, because no single company can offer the best product in every sector, at the end of year 2000 I began to work as an independent Financial Consultant.
This is when I began to work with my first assistant, Svetlana. I believe that our office came into existence when I was no longer working by myself.
Therefore, our company “Financial Services – Serguei Totrov” was established in December of 2000 and offers services in different financial fields. We are licensed to create contracts with insurance, investment companies, banks and financial institutions.
I have completed a three-year course “Certified Financial Planner”, main purpose of which is to provide a full picture of financial planning for a family: all types and variations of insurance, investments, pension planning, government pension plans, taxation and different options to save money for children’s education, as well as many other topics. Of course, I continue my education and increase my qualification, to be able to assist you in making right decision in different financial situations.
In January of 2006, when in Canada it became officially permitted to combine Life Insurance License and Mortgage Broker License, we began to work with mortgages. This sector saw very fast growth and at the beginning of 2014 I opened a franchise – “Dominion Lending Mortgages – Your Mortgage Choice”.
Currently, apart from me, our office employs 14 people.

Among 11 thousand mortgage brokers and agents registered in Canada magazine Canadian Mortgage Professional (CMP) conducts an annual questionnaire of all agents and brokers regarding the volume of individual business, registered through the banks. The results of this questionnaire are transferred into a list of 75 most active brokerages in the country – TOP-75 Mortgage Brokers. |
